La Geria

Inspired by the iconic vineyards of La Geria in Lanzarote, this work depicts a landscape shaped by volcanic ash and traditional farming techniques. The circular shapes protected by stone walls contrast with the dark terrain, creating a very distinctive visual composition.

Located in the center of the island, La Geria is known for its unique cultivation system, where vines are planted in holes dug into volcanic ash to protect them from the wind and conserve moisture. This method, developed after the 18th-century eruptions, defines one of the most recognizable agricultural landscapes of the Canary Islands.
